On M-sport models and those equipped with summer tires, the higher top speed limiter is included. The X5 50i does not come with this because standard tires are all-season and likely limited to 210km/h. In fact stuff like the MV Agusta F4 312R, Ducati Desmosedici RR and BMW S1000RR tended to be faster than the Hayabusa and ZZ-R, perhaps due to ‘softer’ speed limiters (or no limiter at all?) as they all nudge the 190mph mark. We've picked the MV Agusta F4 312R with its recorded top speed of 194mph (312kmh) at the Nardo ring.
So to me it would seem that I can sacrifice a little bit of ultimate top speed because I doubt I’ll get to 300kph + over 800m without adding more power or revs. So going one tooth up in the rear seems to be the better option because I should get through a few more revs in 6th without hitting limiter before the line. Is this a correct assumption.

2016 posts · Joined 2009. #14 · Jun 11, 2010. There is no top speed limiter on this bike, it reads a maximum of 186, but there is no limiter. It will pull the 14000rpm rev limit in 6th given that the engine can get it tere on the day. I have done 14000 rpm in 6th on many ocasions.
